Declared by Bob Dylan as America’s “greatest living poet,” acclaimed singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson’s career spans over 4 decades of hits. He has received numerous awards including the Grammy Living Legend Award, NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award, Honorary Doctorate (Howard University), Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts Award from the President of the United States. He has also been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.

The first time I met Smokey was in Los Angeles at a meeting in Century City. During a break at that meeting, someone convinced him to do his poem, "I Love Being Black" that he originally performed on Def Poetry. From that moment on, I've loved Smokey as a poet, song writer and humanitarian. I am honored to call him my friend.

I was proud to work with Smokey and the Thalians, one of Hollywood’s oldest non-profit organizations, to raise close to $1,000,000.00 for wounded veterans.

My favorite all time Smokey Robinson is Cruisin'. Did you know it took 5 years to write?! What's yours?

We were having a little fun with it.

We are truly honored to announce Smokey Robinson as our first STOP STUFF Ambassador. Our ambassadors are official envoys and representatives of Stop Stuff. Their mission is to work for peace, to support freedom, and to further emotional, educational and financial prosperity.

Smokey speaks here on gun violence, genocide and doing something to STOP STUFF. He is an advocate against discrimination of all kinds. 15% of the proceeds of the STOP STUFF hat Smokey is wearing goes to non-profits in the United States fighting against gun violence.
