The Boyle Heights Technology YouthSource Center promotes youth achievement by working with families and community partners to create opportunities that help youth reach their education, employment, and personal development goals, serving 17-24 year olds in Boyle Heights and surrounding areas in Los Angeles.
For nearly 50 years, BUILD has successfully worked in some of Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods to stem the violence that takes away the positive potential – and, far too often, the very lives – of our youth.
Cure Violence stops the spread of violence in communities by using the methods and strategies associated with disease control – detecting and interrupting conflicts, identifying and treating the highest risk individuals, and changing social norms – resulting reductions in violence of 40% to 70%.
Since 1989 the FDRC has been committed to reducing violence in the minority communities affected by a myriad of social ills. Men working together at the grassroots level can launch a meaningful attack on the negative attitude which contributes to the destruction of families and neighborhoods in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley.
The Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (ICHV) is the oldest and largest statewide organization in the U.S. working to prevent the devastation caused by firearms. Founded in 1975 by four suburban Chicago women concerned about the tragic consequences of handgun proliferation and availability, ICHV works on a variety of fronts to educate, raise public awareness, and build coalitions to enact change in laws and behavior. For 40 years, ICHV has been a leader among state gun violence prevention groups.
