FIRST
PEACE
Violence comes in many forms from gun violence, to human trafficking, to racism, to sexual assault, to LGBTQ discrimination, to cyber bullying and the list goes on. The voiceless and the vulnerable are being preyed upon and, at times, preying on each other. Our right to feel and be safe must not be determined by our race, gender, economic class or neighborhood. To achieve peace, we must eradicate inequality in education, income and criminal justice.

EDUCATION
Quality education, including an understanding of our collective and cultural histories, is the pathway to a better life for ourselves, our families, our community and our world. Education is a right, not a privilege. It is imperative that we prepare all for the challenges and opportunities of a changing economy with the proper skill sets to move us forward. Education is our most powerful resource to create productive members of our society and reduce crime, inequity and discrimination.

PEOPLE ARE OUR CORE CONCERN.
OPPORTUNITY
Opportunity defines or defies what is possible. For too many, the opportunity to advance is systemically impeded by lack of access to and/or resources for affordable education, living wages, equal pay and simply, hope. Lack of opportunity is a loss leader for innovation and growth as we ignore the unrealized potential of our citizens, our most valuable asset.

PRISON REFORM
Only 5% of the world's population lives in the U.S., yet we represent 25% of the world's prison population. As the prison industrial complex grows, so does the economic benefit to those it serves. The system was, in great part, constructed to repress and subjugate rather than prevent and rehabilitate. Prison reform that addresses legitimate rehabilitation, long standing policies tied to the enslavement of African Americans, the depreciation of human rights, and the evaluation of a profit based system of incarceration is required.

LEADERSHIP
Gurus live amongst us, the next leaders, activists and social entrepreneurs. The innovators who can and will change the world need our support, guidance and encouragement to discover cutting edge solutions, develop new policy, and build successful enterprises with dynamic impact. We are determined to develop 1 million leaders, activists and social entrepreneurs to actually change the world. Their leadership will create a new wave of advancement and move us to the next level of progress.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
Economic empowerment is a direct path toward social empowerment, equality and the elimination of poverty. Contribution to the growth of our economy instills self-respect, dignity and value. The individual right to autonomy, self-determination and independence is essential to the vitality and stability of our communities.
